Alpha lipoic acid

It is an antioxidant and is widely used in the prevention of various diseases. Its main function is to increase production of glutathione, which helps to dissolve toxic substances in the liver. It helps neutralize free radicals in our radicals in our body and protects cell from damage. A free radical is an unstable molecule that tries to steal electrons from other molecules, thus causing damage. Smoking, pollution, car exhaust, fried foods are the source of free radicals.

Alpha lipoic acid is found in meat and vegetables like spinach. It is easily absorbed into blood stream, and can also cross the blood brain barrier.
