Cortisone is a catabolic steroid which is intended to reduce inflammation by destroying the tissue in the inflamed area.These injections are bit painful, and rarely results in pain relief and if they do the pain relief is short lived, usually 1-2 weeks. |
It does not identify the cause of pain, it just treats the symptom.
Anti-inflammatory drugs
These medications also do not identify the cause of the pain and deliver very little pain relief. They deliver serious side effects.
Back surgery
Surgery for back pain is common but the problem is that the person has pain afterwards and sometime even new problem arises. For example- people have surgery for herniated discs. The logic behind the surgery is to remove the portion of disc that is putting pressure on the nerve, the problem is solved. But the problem is that the force that made the disc to bulge out will force more of the disc out or another disc out.
