Creative – Creative Monohydrate

Creatine is a nutrient found naturally in our body made from a combination of three amino acids arginine, glycine, and methionine. Most of the body’s creatine is found in the skeletal muscles and some part of it is scattered in the body.

The chemical name of creatine is methyl guanidine-acetic acid. Its main function is to provide energy to our muscles for movement. Our body gets the creatine from food or through supplements. Taking creatine monohydrate helps during workouts.

How It works:

It increases the energy of our muscles by increasing the amount of ATP in our body. Our strength depends on the ATP, supplementing creatine enhances the strength.

ATP is the fuel for our muscle contractions. It provides energy by releasing a phosphate molecule and itself becomes ADP.

The energy produced lasts for few seconds, after which again ATP should be produced. This is where creatine phosphate comes in and gives its phosphate to the ADP making ATP. This ATP is used again as energy. More creatine you have, you will produce more ATP and thus generate more energy during workouts.

ATP depends on the supply of creatine. More the creatine you have, more will be the ATP. Having the extra creatine in body allows to work the muscles to the maximum potential.

Creatine and diet:

Creatine exists in our body. The amount of creatine in our body depends on our body weight and on our muscle mass. A person weighing 150lb will have about 120 grams of creatine, and an average person uses up to two grams of creatine everyday.

It is found in meat and fish. We also get it from cod, tuna, salmon, beef and pork. We get creatine from these meat but should not have in high amount as these meat contains high level of saturated fats and cholesterol. Vegetarians have less creatine than meat-eaters because meats are the source of creatine.
